Carlos Armesto directs KINGDOM by Aaron Jafferis and Ian Williams

 Friends and Colleagues:

I wanted to invite the Alumni community to a new musical I'm directing.  It's a musical that's very powerful, and fuses the elements of rock, hip-hop and salsa into a bold score and a moving story about survival in the dangerous world of gang life.

The piece is called KINGDOM, by Aaron Jafferis and Ian Williams.  It had a showing at the New York Music Theatre Festival in 2006 -- and it was a huge hit.  It was deemed "Most Promising Musical" and has since generated a lot of interest.  It recently had a production at The Old Globe in San Diego, and I'm now currently directing a production at ReVision Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ.

I know the venue may be farther away than usual, but we're doing something really different with the piece than in past incarnations. We're adding a strong hip-hop movement element to the play that I believe will amplify and clarify piece to the audience.

For more information on the play, please go to:

There is also a great promo video on the site for you to see.

The run is April 16 - May 3, with performances running Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 7 PM.  Ticket info is on the website.

I hope you can all make it!

XO

Carlos
